The faculty consists of PhD/PsyD, clinical psychologists and psychiatrists in the Behavioral Health Careline at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center (DDEAMC). There are consulting psychologists at local medical centers providing support to the program. The faculty members are highly committed professionals who value their involvement in the internship. In addition, a variety of professionals (psychiatrists, neurologists, family medicine physicians, clinical nurse specialists, and social workers) provides additional consultation to interns depending on rotational requirements and the needs of patients in treatment. These consultants come from the Behavioral Health care line and other DDEAMC services.
As a teaching hospital, DDEAMC has considerable technical resources available (research assistance, Medline and PsychInfo support at each workstation, e-mail and Internet access), as well as the opportunity to interact with the teaching staff, fellow psychology interns and interns involved in a variety of graduate medical education programs. The psychology internship-training program is strengthened by our close working relationship with key training programs throughout DDEAMC.
As a major department of DDEAMC, the Behavioral Health Careline offers the following services to patients:
- Inpatient Psychiatry
- Outpatient Behavioral Health Service
- Neuroscience and Rehabilitation Center
- Residential Substance Abuse Treatment
