Fort Gordon offers many activities such as comprehensive gyms, bowling alley, movie theater, riding stable, dinner theatre, regionally recognized golf course, sportsman’s club, and many lakes for fishing. The Fort Gordon recreation complex, called Points West, is located on the beautiful 71,000-acre Clark’s Hill Lake and offers beach volleyball, swimming beach, picnic areas, rental cabins, conference center, and boat storage.

Augusta is also home to the Masters PGA tournament. Perhaps you’ve heard of it! If you’ve never experienced "The tradition like no other", we encourage you to take advantage of your proximity to this historic event. Augusta is a very family friendly city. Columbia County schools are consistently some of the best in Georgia.

The Augusta area has many activities such as the River Walk, Augusta Green Jackets minor league baseball, Augusta Symphony, Augusta Ballet, Augusta Canal, North Augusta Greenway, Augusta Museum of History, and historic downtown Augusta. Companies such as 3M, National Security Agency, Club Car, and the Savannah River Site are located in and around the Augusta area. Augusta has five large regionally and nationally recognized hospitals making it a leader of medicine in Georgia.

Ford Ironman 70.3 TriathlonThe Augusta area has over 100 miles of single-track mountain biking trails, 120,000-acre Sumter National Forest, the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest, five local and state parks. It is also home to the World Championship qualifying Ford Ironman 70.3 triathlon.

Atlanta, historic Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA, and the Great Smokey Mountains are all within a short, three-hour drive.
